This support is considered "shared" because staff are located on-site (or very nearby) within a complex or cluster of SDA dwellings and respond to the unplanned needs of multiple participants. This allows participants to live in their own individual apartments or dwellings with greater privacy and independence than traditional group homes, while still having the security of accessible support in an emergency or for unexpected, short-duration needs.
