This Core Support line item is used for providing assistance with self-care activities to a participant who requires intensive support due to complex behaviours of concern. It is specifically for supports delivered on a weekday evening.

This support falls under the Assistance with Daily Life support category and is designed to help participants with personal tasks to live as autonomously as possible.

When is This Support Used?
This line item is appropriate when a participant requires support from a provider who is implementing their behaviour support plan. A support is considered to involve Intensive and Complex Behaviour Support if the participant:

Displays frequent behaviours of concern that significantly affect their own or others' safety and wellbeing.

Requires intensive support, including proactive strategies and skill development, which may involve the use of restrictive practices to minimise harm.

Has other complex issues that may exacerbate their behaviour support needs.

This particular line item applies to supports that start at or after 8:00 pm and finish at or before midnight on a single weekday.

Provider Requirements
To claim for this support, a provider must meet specific NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements, including:

Actively implementing a behaviour support plan with the participant.

Being registered for Module 2A (Implementing Behaviour Support Plans) or having submitted a new or amended registration application that includes this module.
