This line item is used for providing hands-on assistance with self-care activities to a participant who requires intensive and complex behaviour support, specifically when the service is delivered on a public holiday.

Purpose and Scope
01_454_0107_1_1 is a CORE support item under the Assistance with Daily Life support category. It covers assistance with, or supervision of, personal tasks of daily life to help a participant develop skills and live as autonomously as possible.

This specific line item is for services provided on a public holiday, which is defined as any support starting at or after midnight on the night before a public holiday and ending by midnight of that public holiday.

Who Can Use This Item?
This support item is for participants who require Intensive and Complex Behaviour Support. This applies to individuals who:

Display frequent behaviours of concern that significantly impact their safety or the safety of others.

Require intensive support, proactive strategies, and may require the use of restrictive practices as outlined in a behaviour support plan.

Have other complex needs that may exacerbate their behaviour support requirements.

Provider Requirements To claim this item, a provider must be actively implementing an interim or comprehensive behaviour support plan and be registered and assessed for Module 2A (Implementing Behaviour Support Plans) with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
