This Core support item is for assistance with self-care activities for a participant who requires intensive and complex behaviour support during the night on a weekday. The primary line item for this support is 01_455_0107_1_1.

A similar support, 01_455_0115_1_1, is available for participants in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) arrangement.

Purpose and Scope
This support is designed for a participant who requires intensive support due to behaviours of concern. It applies when a participant:

Displays frequent behaviours of concern that significantly impact their safety or the safety of others.

Requires intensive proactive strategies, skill development, and response strategies, which may include the use of restrictive practices.

May have other complex needs that exacerbate their behaviour support requirements.

For NDIS claiming purposes, a Weekday Night support is one that commences at or before midnight on a weekday and finishes after midnight, or starts before 6:00 am on a weekday and finishes on that same day.

Provider Requirements
To deliver this support, providers must meet specific NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements:

The support must be delivered in accordance with the participant's interim or comprehensive behaviour support plan.

The provider must be registered for Module 2A (Implementing Behaviour Support Plans) or have submitted a registration or amendment application including a completed audit against Module 2A by 30 June 2025.
