Line Item Description

This NDIS support item is listed under the Core - Assistance with Daily Life support category. It is designed for participants who require nursing care to respond to their disability-related health needs, where that care is not the usual responsibility of the health system.

Support Details

This line item covers the provision of Disability-Related Health Supports. These supports must directly relate to the participant's significant and permanent functional impairment and assist them with activities of daily living. This item is specifically for supports delivered during Weekday Daytime hours.

For the purpose of nursing supports, "Weekday Daytime" is defined as any support that commences before 12:00 noon on a Weekday and finishes on the same day (unless it is a Public Holiday, Weekday Evening, or Weekday Night support).

This support has been duplicated into the Assistance with Daily Life Support Category to provide participants with greater access to these supports when needed.

Provider Qualifications

This support item must be used when the nurse delivering the support meets the classification of a Registered nurse - level 1 (RN1) under the Nurses Award 2020 (A.5.1). A registered nurse is defined as a person who has completed the prescribed education preparation, demonstrates competence to practice, and is registered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law as a registered nurse in Australia.


Claiming Guidelines

This support item can be delivered to individual participants or to groups, subject to the rules for group-based supports.

In addition to the direct delivery of supports, providers can claim using this line item for the following activities:

Provider Travel
Short Notice Cancellation (2 clear business days)
NDIA Requested Reports
