Support Details

This line item covers nursing care provided to respond to a participant's disability-related health needs, specifically for care that is not the usual responsibility of the health system. It has been duplicated into the Assistance with Daily Life Support Category to ensure participants have greater access to these supports when needed.

This item is for supports delivered during Weekday Night hours. For NDIS nursing supports, this is defined as a support that commences on or after 6:00 pm on a Weekday and finishes before 7:30 am on the following day (unless it is a Public Holiday Support).

Provider Qualifications

This support item must be used when the nurse delivering the support meets the classification of a Registered nurse level 3 (RN3) or higher under the Nurses Award 2020 (A.5.3).

Under the Award, a clinical nurse consultant is a nurse practicing in the advanced practice role. Advanced practice nursing is a qualitatively different level of advanced nursing practice from that of the registered nurse, due to additional legislative functions and regulatory requirements. These requirements include a prescribed educational level, specified advanced nursing practice experience, and continuing professional development.
