This NDIS support item is listed under the Core - Assistance with Daily Life support category. It has been temporarily duplicated into this category to provide participants with greater access to these supports if they are needed.
Support Details
This line item is for the provision of therapeutic care to respond to the disability-related health needs of a participant, where that care is not the usual responsibility of the health system. It is intended for participants 9 years or older.
This support is for participants with an established disability and is intended to facilitate functional improvement. The therapy is aimed at adjustment, adaption, and building capacity for community participation.
This item can also be used for the assessment, planning, and delivery of Disability-Related Health Supports where these supports directly relate to a participant's significant and permanent functional impairment and assist them to undertake activities of daily living.
Provider Qualifications
This support must be delivered by an Other Professional. This is defined as a person who is not one of the other specified types of professionals (like a Psychologist or Physiotherapist) but who the provider considers to be an appropriate professional to deliver therapeutic supports in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission's requirements for the Therapeutic Supports Registration Group.
In line with the General Claiming Rules, providers must make claims against the support item that most accurately reflects the support provided. This means that where a line item exists for a specific type of professional, supports of that type must be made against that item, not this "Other Professional" item.
Claiming Guidelines
This support item can be delivered to individual participants or to groups, subject to the rules for group-based supports.
In addition to direct service provision, providers can claim using this line item for the following activities:

Short Notice Cancellation (2 clear business days)
NDIA Requested Reports
Providers can also claim for the non-labour costs of travel separately using the line item 01_799_0128_1_1.
Limited Access Description
Capacity Building Line Item in Core. Only to be used in exceptional situations. Unless explicitly written in participant's plan (Core) or with in writing permission from their NDIS planner (no LAC).
