Line Item Description

This NDIS line item is used for making weekly claims for Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports. It bundles all planned assistance for daily tasks within a shared living environment into a single weekly claim, simplifying the payment process for both providers and participants.

To use this line item, providers must adhere to specific conditions:


Service Agreement: A service agreement must be in place between the provider and participant, specifying the agreement to claim weekly and detailing the typical schedule of supports to be provided for the weekly amount.

Exclusive Use: Providers must choose either the weekly (01_821_0115_1_1) or hourly SIL support items. They cannot use a combination of both methods for a participant.


Price Limit: The price limit for this item is determined by the total regular SIL funding in the participant's plan, divided by the number of weeks in that plan period.


Associated Claims: In addition to direct service, claims can be made for Short Notice Cancellations (7 days) and Irregular SIL Supports.

What are Irregular SIL Supports?
Irregular SIL supports are for intermittent or unplanned events that disrupt the planned roster of care. This can include situations where a participant is at home unexpectedly due to illness or the cancellation of a day program. These can be claimed using this line item with the participant's prior agreement, as specified in the service agreement.
