Where a support item does not have a price limit then the provider and participant should agree on the reasonable price for the support. If necessary, they should also agree on the billing schedule for the support. In the NDIS Support Catalogue marked under empty type.
NDIS line item 01_822_0138_1_1 for Supported Independent Living Exit Accommodation Permanently provides a specialized payment mechanism for SIL providers in the event of a sudden, unplanned exit from a shared living arrangement. While the general NDIS rule states that providers cannot claim extra funds from a participant's plan to cover standard vacancy periods, this line item serves as a strict exception for critical, unforeseen circumstances.
Key Inclusions and Parameters
* Unplanned Exits: This item can only be claimed if a participant permanently leaves a shared SIL accommodation (where supports were shared by 2 or more residents) due to a critical incident, such as an irretrievable breakdown affecting health and safety, or in the event of the participant's passing.
* Claim Limits: Providers can claim the participant's specified weekly SIL rate for up to a maximum of 28 days, or until the open position in the SIL arrangement is filled—whichever comes first.
* Service Agreement Requirements: To claim this line item, there must be a formal service agreement in place between the participant and provider detailing notice periods and the specific terms for unplanned exits.
When This Item Does Not Apply
* Standard Vacancies: Providers cannot use this line item to cover a standard vacancy if someone simply moves out of the shared home for regular reasons.
* Choice of Provider: It cannot be claimed if a participant is simply choosing to change providers under normal circumstances, or if the participant is leaving within an already agreed-upon planned notice period.
Some activities can be delivered without the participant percent
Some providers can charge participants for the time it takes them to travel and deliver support
