Displays frequent behaviours of concern that have a significant effect on their own or others’ wellbeing and safety.
Requires intensive support, including the implementation of intensive proactive strategies (frequent/daily), skill development, and response strategies.
May involve the use of restrictive practices to minimise the risk of harm.
May be experiencing, or is likely to be experiencing, other issues that exacerbate or increase the complexity of their behaviour support needs.
Provider and Plan Requirements The support delivered must be in accordance with the participant's interim or comprehensive behaviour support plan. Registered providers delivering this intensive support are generally required to be assessed for Module 2A (Implementing Behaviour Support Plans).
Claiming Rules This support can be provided to individual participants or to groups requiring this specific level of support. When provided to a group, the total support is divided by the number of people in the group for the purpose of claiming.
The line item also permits claims for:
Non-Face-to-Face Support Provision.
Provider Travel (Labour and Non-Labour Costs).
Short Notice Cancellation (with a notice period of 7 days).
Activity Based Transport – Social, Economic and Community Participation Supports.
Centre Capital Costs (if the service is provided in a centre).
Some activities can be delivered without the participant percent
