Claiming Rules
Quotation: Home modifications are generally "quotable supports". A provider must provide a quotation to the NDIA, and the support must be included as a stated item in the participant's plan before a claim can be made.
Prepayments: Providers may be permitted to claim prepayments for home modification supports, especially if the total value exceeds $1,500 or the item is custom-made.
Final Payment: A final payment of at least 10% of the total cost cannot be claimed until the participant has received the support (i.e., the ramp is installed) and it is ready for use.
Co-payments: If a participant requests a customization that is not considered reasonable or necessary, such as a specific aesthetic feature, they are required to pay for that component themselves.
Some activities can be delivered without the participant percent
Some providers can charge participants for the time it takes them to travel and deliver support
