Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is a specialised NDIS support designed to assist participants living with a psychosocial disability (arising from a mental health condition) to live a full, purposeful, and meaningful life.

Service Details:

Time of Delivery: This line item is specifically for support delivered during the Weekday Night period, which is defined as being between 12:00 am (midnight) and 6:00 am, Monday to Friday.

The Role of the Recovery Coach: The coach is a mental health-informed worker who builds strong, respectful relationships to support the participant's recovery journey. They work collaboratively with the participant, their family, carers, and other services to help manage periods of increased support needs due to the episodic nature of mental illness.

Core Activities: A Psychosocial Recovery Coach will help the participant to:

Build capacity, resilience, and improve overall well-being.

Identify, plan, design, and coordinate NDIS and mainstream supports.

Better understand the NDIS and navigate their plan.

Connect with and obtain support from mental health services and community networks.

Required Experience: Recovery Coaches must have either tertiary qualifications in mental health peer work (minimum of Certificate IV) or a minimum of two years' paid experience in mental health-related work. Many coaches also draw on their own lived experience of mental ill health and recovery to inform their support.

Claiming: In addition to direct service delivery, this support item can be claimed for associated costs, including Non-Face-to-Face support, Provider Travel, Short Notice Cancellation (7 days), and NDIA Requested Reports. Provider travel (non-labour costs) and activity-based transport can also be claimed using the relevant support items.
