The primary goal is to fund employment related assessment, counselling, and advice provided by an Occupational Therapist to assist NDIS participants in successfully engaging in and sustaining employment.

Key Outcomes and Activities:

Workplace Assessments: The Occupational Therapist (OT) conducts comprehensive assessments focusing on the interaction between the participant, the work environment, and the job tasks (the 'occupation').

Functional Capacity: The assessment evaluates the participant's physical, cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial abilities to meet the demands of a specific role or work environment.

Workplace Modifications: The OT can recommend and plan for necessary workplace adjustments, ergonomic supports, or the use of assistive technology to improve a participant’s function, safety, and productivity on the job.

Counselling and Advice: Includes developing strategies for task management, energy conservation, fatigue management, and managing any health conditions or functional limitations in a work context.

Goal Development: The OT assists in setting specific, achievable employment goals and creating a practical plan to address barriers to finding or keeping a job.

Professional Requirement: This support item must be delivered by a recognised Occupational Therapist.
