Line Item Description

This NDIS support item 15_054_0128_1_3 provides funding for therapeutic services delivered by a qualified Psychologist for participants aged 9 or older. It is part of the Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living support category.

Services funded under this line item are intended to facilitate functional improvement, adjustment, and adaption for participants with an established disability. This can include maintenance care to help a participant maintain their level of functioning, achieve small incremental gains, or prevent functional decline.

A provider delivering this support must be a Psychologist with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This also includes paid provisionally registered Psychologists who are operating under supervision.

This support item can be used for a range of activities, including:
- Assessment: Conducting psychological assessments to understand a participant's needs.
- Recommendation: Providing professional recommendations for therapeutic interventions.
- Therapy: Delivering evidence-based therapeutic supports.
- Training: Providing training to the participant, their family, or carers to help manage disability-related needs.

This item can also be used for the assessment, planning, and delivery of Disability-Related Health Supports where they relate to a participant's functional impairment and assist with activities of daily living.

NB: There is not such a thing as NDIS rate that has to be paid (or ndis psychology fees). The price given in NDIS Pricing Arrangements is the maximum that can be charged. However, this does not mean that you have to charge at this rate. In fact, it is usually wise to charge less - a lot of providers do this in order to get more work.
