This item is specifically for therapeutic supports provided to participants who are 9 years or older. The purpose of these supports is to facilitate functional improvement , adjustment, adaptation, and building capacity for community participation.



Services funded under this item can include:

Assessment, planning, and delivery of Disability-Related Health Supports.

Maintenance care designed to help a participant maintain a level of functioning, achieve small incremental gains, or prevent functional decline.

Training for carers or non-qualified personnel to assist a participant, such as implementing a specific regime to maintain functioning as part of usual daily care.

This support item cannot be used for massage, as that is considered more appropriately funded by the health system.

Professional Requirements
This support can only be delivered by an Exercise Physiologist , who must be an "Accredited exercise physiologist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia".



Alternatively, the support can be delivered by a Therapy Assistant (Level 1 or Level 2) working under the delegation and supervision of a qualified Exercise Physiologist.


Claiming Rules
This support can be delivered to participants individually or in a group setting. In addition to direct service delivery, this item can be used to claim for the following activities:



Non-Face-to-Face Support Provision


Provider Travel (Note: The hourly price limit for provider travel time for therapy providers is 50% of the regular price limit )



NDIA Requested Reports


Short Notice Cancellation (in line with the '2 clear business days' rule)

Providers can also claim for the non-labour costs associated with provider travel by using the specific line item 15_799_0126_1_3 or 15_799_0128_1_3.
