Line Item Description

The NDIS line item 15_300_0103_1_3 Assistive Technology Mentoring is a support designed to provide participants with non-therapeutic advice and assistance related to Assistive Technology (AT). This support is delivered by an AT Mentor to ensure participants make informed decisions and get the most value from their AT funding.

The support includes advising and assisting participants with:

Identifying Needs: Working with the participant to understand their goals and how different types of AT can help to overcome functional barriers in their daily life.

Product Selection: Providing guidance on the types of AT best suited to meet the participant's needs, including consideration of low, mid, and higher-cost items.

Effective Use: Delivering training, instruction, and mentoring to the participant, their family, or their support network on how to use the purchased AT correctly and safely to maximise independence and community participation.

This support is a new feature within the Assistive Products for Personal Care and Safety (0103) registration group and is a claimable support to help navigate the complexities of AT selection and integration. It aims to empower participants to exercise choice and control over their AT solutions.
