This support item falls under the Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living support category and is specifically for Early Intervention Supports for Early Childhood (participants younger than 9).


It provides capacity building supports, which can include a key worker, to assist a child with a developmental delay or disability, along with their family or carers. These services are designed to help the child work towards increased functional independence and social participation. Supports can be delivered in various settings, including the home, community, and early childhood education environments. Services must be delivered in line with the NDIS Commission's Practice Standards and Quality Indicators for Early Childhood Supports.


This item can also be used for the assessment, planning, and delivery of Disability-Related Health Supports if they are directly related to the child's significant and permanent functional impairment and assist them with activities of daily living.

Provider Qualifications To deliver this support, the provider must be a Developmental Educator. This is defined as a person who has a bachelor's degree or higher and holds current full membership with Developmental Educators Australia Inc..
