This NDIS support item provides therapeutic services from a Music Therapist for participants aged 9 or older. It falls under the "Therapy Supports (9 or older)" category.



Purpose and Scope This support is intended for participants with an established disability to facilitate functional improvement. The therapy must be aimed at adjustment, adaption, and building the participant's capacity for community participation.


This item can also be used for:

The assessment, planning, and delivery of Disability-Related Health Supports.

Maintenance care, where the primary purpose is to provide ongoing support for a participant to maintain their level of functioning, achieve small incremental gains, or prevent functional decline.

Delivering reasonable and necessary training for carers or non-qualified personnel to assist a participant, as part of their usual daily care, where a specific regime is required to maintain functioning.

This support can be delivered to individual participants or to groups.

Provider Qualifications This support item must be delivered by a Music Therapist. A Music Therapist is defined as a person who is an Active "Registered Music Therapist" with the Australian Music Therapy Association.
