This support item is listed under the Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living support category. It is specifically for Early Intervention Supports for Early Childhood, designed to provide capacity building supports to a child younger than 9 with a developmental delay or disability.


The primary goal of this support is to assist the child and their family or carers to work towards increased functional independence and social participation. These supports can be delivered in the participant's home, in the community, or in early childhood education settings.

All services must be delivered in line with the NDIS Commission's NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators for Early Childhood Supports. This item can be delivered to individual participants or in a group setting.


This support item can also be used for the assessment, planning, and delivery of Disability-Related Health Supports where these supports are directly related to the participant's functional impairment and assist them with activities of daily living.

Provider Qualifications Supports under this item must be delivered by an Early Childhood Teacher or Educator. This professional must have a bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Special Education. They must also hold current registration or accreditation with their state or territory's relevant professional body, where applicable.
