This little article will show you step by step how to remove passwords from ANZ PDF Bank Statements by using Google Chrome browser and gMail attachment previewer.
Why to remove?
Under ATO's record keeping obligations, you need to store your financial records (including original bank statements) for 5 years. If all your statements are password protected and every bank statement has its own unique password:
- It is highly unlikely you will ever be able to access them in few years.
- If you will keep them in your email (together with the original password), that would defeat the purpose of having the passwords in the first place.
- If you store your statements together with the passwords somewhere else, that would defeat the purpose of having the passwords as well.
So it is all about creating efficient and streamlined processes for your business. Let's remove the passwords!
How to remove?
Step One: Open gMail in Chrome Browser and open the email with Statment. Click on the PDF name to open it in gMail Attachment Previewer:
