‘Notional Unit Price’ Support Line Item is a type of line items under NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Supports are not subject to a price limit and $1.00 is not the maximum price to be charged for a unit, it is how a claim is made to the NDIA.Each of the Notional Unit Prices might have their own pricing limits.
This line item is used to claim for the out-of-pocket travel expenses incurred by a provider when travelling to deliver face-to-face Specialist Positive Behaviour Support (Registration Group 0110). These costs are for expenses other than the support worker's time.
This support item falls under the Core budget in a participant's NDIS plan.
What Expenses Are Covered?
Providers can claim a reasonable contribution towards costs incurred while travelling to a participant. The NDIS considers the following to be reasonable contributions:
Vehicle Costs: Up to $0.99 per kilometre for a vehicle owned by the provider or their worker.
Other Transport Costs: Up to the full amount for expenses such as road tolls, parking fees, and public transport fares.
How to Claim This Support
This support item is not subject to a price limit, but it has a "notional" unit price of $1.00. To claim, the provider should:
Calculate the total cost of the non-labour travel expenses (e.g., $35.50).
Submit the claim for that number of units at $1.00 per unit (e.g., 35.5 units at a price of $1.00).
Claims for these non-labour costs must be made separately from the claim for the primary support and the claim for the provider's travel time.
Some activities can be delivered without the participant percent
Some providers can charge participants for the time it takes them to travel and deliver support
