‘Notional Unit Price’ Support Line Item is a type of line items under NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Supports are not subject to a price limit and $1.00 is not the maximum price to be charged for a unit, it is how a claim is made to the NDIA.Each of the Notional Unit Prices might have their own pricing limits.

Line Item Description

The NDIS support item 04_590_0125_6_1 is categorized under Core supports within the Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation support category. This line item is specifically designated for Activity Based Transport, allowing providers to claim for the non-labour costs incurred when transporting a participant to, from, or as part of a community participation support activity.

This Activity Based Transport support is distinct from the labour costs associated with the support worker's time. While the time a worker spends driving a participant is claimed against the relevant hourly community participation support item, this specific line item covers the associated transport expenses. Eligible non-labour costs that can be negotiated include the running costs of the vehicle (often calculated on a per-kilometre basis), as well as other related expenses such as road tolls, parking fees, and public transport fares.

Providers are entitled to bill for these expenses only when the transport is provided at the request of the participant and with their prior agreement. This agreement should cover the specific non-labour costs to be claimed. If a provider transports two or more participants on the same trip, these additional non-labour costs must be apportioned (split) amongst the participants, with the agreement of each participant involved.

This item is applicable for supports delivered to individual participants or groups and is used to facilitate access to community, social, and recreational activities. It is important to note that claims for this item are made in addition to the primary support and the worker's travel time.
