‘Notional Unit Price’ Support Line Item is a type of line items under NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Supports are not subject to a price limit and $1.00 is not the maximum price to be charged for a unit, it is how a claim is made to the NDIA.Each of the Notional Unit Prices might have their own pricing limits.
NDIS Line Item 04_591_0136_6_1: Activity Based Transport
This line item allows NDIS providers to claim for the non-labour costs associated with transporting a participant to, from, or as part of a group or centre-based community participation support.
???? What it Covers
This support item is specifically for reimbursing the provider for out-of-pocket expenses incurred during transport. It is claimed separately from the support worker's time, which is claimed against the primary support item (i.e., the group activity itself).
Examples of claimable non-labour costs include:
Road tolls
Parking fees
Vehicle running costs
Public transport fares
???? How Costs are Calculated
The NDIS provides a guide for what it considers a reasonable contribution towards vehicle running costs, which should be agreed upon with the participant in advance:
Up to $0.99 per kilometre for a standard vehicle that is not modified for accessibility.
Up to $2.76 per kilometre for a vehicle that is modified for accessibility or a bus.
The full amount for other costs like tolls, parking, and public transport fares.
Important Note: When transporting two or more participants on the same trip, these costs must be apportioned between all participants, with prior agreement from each person.
Some activities can be delivered without the participant percent
Some providers can charge participants for the time it takes them to travel and deliver support
