‘Notional Unit Price’ Support Line Item is a type of line items under NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Supports are not subject to a price limit and $1.00 is not the maximum price to be charged for a unit, it is how a claim is made to the NDIA.Each of the Notional Unit Prices might have their own pricing limits.
This NDIS support item (04_821_0133_6_1) is for claiming Activity Based Transport non-labour costs associated with a participant engaging in Specialised Supported Employment. It falls under the Core Support category of Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation.
Activity Based Transport covers the costs of transporting a participant to, from, or during employment-related activities when delivered by the same provider who is also delivering the supported employment activity. The purpose is to ensure participants can fully participate in their funded NDIS activities related to employment.
The claim is specifically for non-labour costs incurred by the provider for transporting the participant. This includes, but is not limited to:
Vehicle running costs (e.g., per kilometre charge).
Associated transport costs such as road tolls.
Parking fees.
Public transport fares.
The cost of the support worker's time for providing the transport (the labour cost) is claimed separately using the relevant supported employment support item. Providers must negotiate and agree upon all transport contributions with the participant beforehand, and if transporting multiple participants, the non-labour costs should be split appropriately amongst them. This is a price-limited support item.
Some activities can be delivered without the participant percent
Some providers can charge participants for the time it takes them to travel and deliver support
