‘Notional Unit Price’ Support Line Item is a type of line items under NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Supports are not subject to a price limit and $1.00 is not the maximum price to be charged for a unit, it is how a claim is made to the NDIA.Each of the Notional Unit Prices might have their own pricing limits.
This NDIS support item falls under the Capital budget and the Assistive Technology category. It is a supplementary charge specifically related to Prostheses or Orthoses, corresponding to Registration Group 0135.
The purpose of this support item is to fund necessary additional costs that arise after the initial purchase or modification of an NDIS-approved prosthesis or orthosis. This ensures the device is properly delivered, fitted, and maintained for optimal use by the participant.
Claimable supplementary costs typically include:
Delivery and Freight charges for the Prosthesis or Orthosis.
Costs associated with fitting, adjustment, or customisation of the device to ensure comfort and functionality.
Initial and ongoing training for the participant, family members, or support staff on the safe and effective use, care, and maintenance of the device.
Ongoing maintenance, repairs, or replacement fees that are essential to keep the prosthesis or orthosis operational and effective throughout its lifecycle.
The primary goal of this charge is to support the participant's independence and capacity for participation by ensuring their prosthetic or orthotic device is fully functional, properly fitted, and provides maximum benefit for their mobility and functional needs.
Some activities can be delivered without the participant percent
Some providers can charge participants for the time it takes them to travel and deliver support
