‘Notional Unit Price’ Support Line Item is a type of line items under NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Supports are not subject to a price limit and $1.00 is not the maximum price to be charged for a unit, it is how a claim is made to the NDIA.Each of the Notional Unit Prices might have their own pricing limits.
This NDIS support item is allocated under the Capital - Home Modifications category and covers the cost of Minor Home Modifications (MHM) that involve the alteration or replacement of an external door or doorway within a participant's home.
This support is essential for improving the participant's safe and independent access to and from their dwelling. These modifications often facilitate the passage of mobility devices such as wheelchairs, scooters, and complex walking aids. As a Minor Home Modification, the scope of work is typically less complex or extensive than a Major Home Modification, though it still involves permanent changes to the structure of the dwelling.
The funding covers all necessary aspects of the modification process related to the external door, including:
Doorway Widening: Altering the door frame to widen the entrance for accessibility.
Door Replacement: Installing a new door that is easier to operate, such as lighter doors, sliding doors, or doors with modified hardware (e.g., lever handles).
Threshold Modification: Adjusting the threshold to eliminate trip hazards and create a smoother transition for mobility devices.
Associated Hardware: Installation of appropriate locks, peepholes, or other fittings to maintain security and usability.
This support is categorised under the NDIS Registration Group 0111: Home Modification Design and Construction. Minor Home Modifications generally require professional consultation and evidence to ensure they meet the participant’s functional needs. Claims are made against the specific support number: 06_182409401_0111_2_2.
