‘Notional Unit Price’ Support Line Item is a type of line items under NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Supports are not subject to a price limit and $1.00 is not the maximum price to be charged for a unit, it is how a claim is made to the NDIA.Each of the Notional Unit Prices might have their own pricing limits.
This NDIS support item falls under the Capital - Home Modifications budget category. The line item 06_182495322_0111_2_2 is specifically used to claim the final payment stage, known as Practical Completion, for an approved Moderate Home Modification (MHM).
Moderate Home Modifications are structural changes to a participant's residence that are typically more substantial than minor modifications but may not require the same level of complex planning as Major Home Modifications. These modifications are essential for a participant to live safely and independently in their home, for example, installing a ramp, bathroom rails, or widening doorways.
The process for claiming against this line item is:
Work Completion: The builder or tradesperson completes all agreed-upon construction work as outlined in the Service Agreement and approved plans.
Practical Completion: This stage is reached when the works are considered substantially complete and the modified area is ready for the participant to use, with only minor defects (snags) remaining to be rectified.
Payment Trigger: The Practical Completion payment is often the final or near-final invoice and is released after the works are formally inspected, typically by the Project Manager, Occupational Therapist, or the participant/nominee, to confirm they meet the required standard and specifications.
This payment ensures the building contractor receives their final, substantive payment and marks the effective handover of the completed, functional modification to the participant. The item is managed under NDIS Registration Group 0111: Home Modification Design and Construction.
