It is used to cover the costs incurred by a service provider when transporting a participant to or during activities that align with their NDIS goals, primarily those supports provided by a Psychosocial Recovery Coach or Support Coordinator.

Service Details:

Purpose of Claim: This line item is designed exclusively for claiming the non-labour costs associated with transport. The time spent by the support worker providing the transport is claimed separately using the relevant hourly rate support item, such as the Psychosocial Recovery Coaching item.

Eligible Costs (Non-Labour): Providers may negotiate with the participant for a reasonable contribution towards costs incurred while transporting them in the community. These costs may include:

A per-kilometre rate for using a vehicle not modified for accessibility.

A higher per-kilometre rate for a bus or a vehicle that is modified for accessibility.

The full amount for associated costs such as public transport fares, road tolls, and parking fees.

Participant Empowerment: By covering non-labour transport costs, this item ensures participants can maintain consistency in attending vital appointments and community engagements, fostering their social inclusion, independence, and overall quality of life.

Agreement: Providers are required to discuss and agree upon any reasonable contributions for these non-labour transport costs with the participant before they are incurred.
