‘Notional Unit Price’ Support Line Item is a type of line items under NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Supports are not subject to a price limit and $1.00 is not the maximum price to be charged for a unit, it is how a claim is made to the NDIA.Each of the Notional Unit Prices might have their own pricing limits.
This line item is used by NDIS providers to claim reimbursement for non-labour costs incurred while travelling to deliver face-to-face capacity building supports to a participant.
It is directly associated with the primary support:
09_006_0106_6_3: Life Transition Planning Including Mentoring, Peer-Support And Individual Skill Development.
This primary support falls under the Increased Social and Community Participation capacity building category and aims to help participants develop skills by assisting with appointments, social activities, and maintaining contact with others.
What Costs Can Be Claimed? ????
With the participant's prior agreement, a provider can claim a reasonable contribution towards out-of-pocket travel expenses. These include:
Road tolls
Parking fees
Public transport fares
Running costs of a vehicle
The NDIS considers the following contribution rates to be reasonable:
Up to $0.99 per kilometre for a vehicle owned by the provider or their worker.
Up to the full amount for other costs like tolls, parking, or public transport fares.
Some activities can be delivered without the participant percent
Some providers can charge participants for the time it takes them to travel and deliver support
