‘Notional Unit Price’ Support Line Item is a type of line items under NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Supports are not subject to a price limit and $1.00 is not the maximum price to be charged for a unit, it is how a claim is made to the NDIA.Each of the Notional Unit Prices might have their own pricing limits.
This line item is used by NDIS providers to claim reimbursement for the non-labour costs associated with travelling to a participant to deliver specific employment-related therapeutic supports. It covers the direct out-of-pocket expenses a provider might incur for travel, separate from the support worker's time.
When Can This Item Be Used?
This travel cost item is specifically linked to the "Employment Related Assessment, Counselling and Advice" supports within the Finding and Keeping a Job capacity building category. A provider can only claim for non-labour travel costs when they are also eligible to claim for the worker's travel time for delivering these primary supports.
What Costs Are Covered?
With the participant's prior agreement, a provider can claim a reasonable contribution towards expenses incurred while travelling to provide face-to-face support. The NDIS considers the following amounts to be reasonable contributions:
Vehicle Costs: Up to $0.99 per kilometre for a vehicle owned by the provider or the support worker.
Other Expenses: Up to the full amount for other transport-related costs, such as:
Road tolls
Parking fees
Public transport fares
Some activities can be delivered without the participant percent
Some providers can charge participants for the time it takes them to travel and deliver support
