‘Notional Unit Price’ Support Line Item is a type of line items under NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Supports are not subject to a price limit and $1.00 is not the maximum price to be charged for a unit, it is how a claim is made to the NDIA.Each of the Notional Unit Prices might have their own pricing limits.
This line item is used to claim for the non-labour costs a provider incurs while travelling to deliver face-to-face Specialist Behavioural Intervention Support to a participant. It falls under the Capacity Building support purpose and the Improved Relationships support category.
This support item allows providers to be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses separate from the worker's travel time.
✅ What Costs Are Covered?
Providers can negotiate with a participant to make a reasonable contribution towards travel costs incurred, in addition to the worker's time. According to the NDIS Pricing Arrangements, these costs can include:
Road tolls and parking fees.
Running costs of the vehicle, for which the NDIA considers up to $0.99 per kilometre to be a reasonable contribution.
Fares for public transport.
Some activities can be delivered without the participant percent
Some providers can charge participants for the time it takes them to travel and deliver support
