Line Item Description

This line item allows NDIS providers to claim for the non-labour costs associated with transporting a participant to access supports that fall under the Improved Learning capacity building category.

???? Purpose and Scope
This line item is specifically used to cover transport-related expenses when a provider is delivering the support 13_030_0102_4_3 - Transition Through School And To Further Education. Its purpose is to help participants physically access services and activities designed to assist them in moving from school to further education, fostering greater independence and skill development.



This claim is separate from the support worker's time spent travelling, which is claimed under the primary support item.

???? Covered Costs
With the prior agreement of the participant, providers can claim for reasonable contributions towards non-labour costs incurred while transporting the participant. These include:

Road tolls

Parking fees

Public transport fares

The running costs of the vehicle

The NDIS provides the following guide for what is considered a reasonable contribution for vehicle running costs:

Up to $0.99 per kilometre for a vehicle that is not modified for accessibility.

Up to $2.76 per kilometre for a vehicle that is modified for accessibility or a bus
